And by the way, I have a Neverending double barrel shotgun, that is major kick ass up close. I agree with you a shotgun under some situations, can be a effective tool. Did you know, you can make that rifle, also a pistol? Same for the Plasma weapons. The laser weapons, like the Righteous Authority you get from Danse, has several mod options and depending on how you want to play, makes a big difference in how they perform. When I have the right perks and such, it will get a lot better, but my shotgun has been my backup weapon since the early game. I also like my plasma rifle but those rounds are slow and rather easy for enemies to avoid by side-stepping. Not sure what your issue is but it's my second favourite weapon!
